As a resident and/or business owner in Houston, Texas, we are acutely aware of the importance of maintaining the history of our many diverse cultures which contributed to the growth of our great city. Groups that work towards rebuilding, renovating and preserving our historic cultural contributions are a huge benefit to our local community, our state and our great nation.

The Minority Burial Grounds Preservation Network (MBGPN) creates partnership with local schools, communities and businesses/groups like yours to obtain funding to repair/renovate/maintain cemeteries like the Evergreen Negro Cemetery in the 5th Ward community.

We believe projects, such as these, are important for the present & future inhabitants of the community and it also serves as a way of honoring and respecting the legacy of the individuals interred in the cemetery.

The purchase of supplies like yard maintenance tools, safety gear, and other related needs will help the group meet their goals of renovating the cemetery and properly displaying the rich history for anyone who visits the location.

We've seen similar programs do amazing things for the communities seemingly forgotten over time. Your donation will also enable the children of the community to learn more about the history of former inhabitants, as well as preserving the legacy of their ancestors.

Please give the MBGPN your full consideration.
